Vietnam: money transfer fromm VN?????:
Had some money coming from a deposit for an apartment. When I asked them to wire it to my US account they told me it was not allowed unless I was family. Asked them to go to "Western Union" and said unless I was family or money was to be used for certain things (of which I did not meet requirements) it was not legal to send money out of VN. Anybody know how this can be done? We are not talking a lot of money, less then $500. Thanks.
Thailand: Hostels near expat communities in Chiang Mai:
I am sorry, I probably was not clear enough in my first posting about info on Hostels in Chiang Mai. I know many places to book them but I like to know what area is closest and best chance to meet expats and what places I can go to meet and gather info on living in Thailand. IF ANYONE HAS INFO ON GOOD, SAFE AND CLEAN HOSTELS FOR A GOOD PRICE FOR A FEW DAYS OR MAYBE MUCH LONGER STARTING ON MAY 14TH, WOULD BE SUPER. THANKS.

Vietnam: internet trouble:
Was wondering if anybody else has had a lot of problems connecting to internet here in Vietnam. Was just able to get in here but may not be able to post this message. A cable in the ocean was cut if I got it right but nobody can tell how long they think it could last. Does anybody know? Have not been able to get or send msgs. at all on yahoo, if I get in at all it takes forever and disconnect shortly after connection. Please let me know if anybody knows anything.
Croatia: retirement, visa requirement:
What are the retirement visa requirements for a US citizen to be able to move to Croatia? And how much would one need to live a basic life there. Some areas are more than others like every where else. Would rather live in an area that has 4 seasons instead of beach and warm weather all year round but not a requirement. Thank you for any info you have hopefully from your own experience. Thank you.
France: strasbourg:
Does anybody have long term experience living in Strasbourg as far as renting and expenses to live. Seems like a vibrant nice city to live?
France: permanent visa for retiree:
What is the minimum fixed income requirement to get a visa to retire in France. I know Paris is very expensive, have been there a few times and that is not possible for me but I have read there are places or cities one can live well for less than $ 1500 a month. Is that true or bologna. It does not sound right to me.
Vietnam: Worldwide income tax in Vietnam:
Does VN tax your pension from the US too??????
