Ukraine: Internet American tv/movies:
Navillus it's right. :) Once you get your Netflix back, suddenly life is really good.
Ukraine: wanting to live in Ukraine at least part time:
Hi Psuper81,
I hope this reply reaches you. I didn't answer because I thought your
Questions were directed to someone else.
Please email me at grantshort@hotmail.com or Facebook me with the same
Email address. I have a few suggestions, but it would be helpful for you
To have a fluent Russian speaking ally here in Kiev.
Ukraine: Ukraine Aftermath:
I'm getting sick of some of the topics I'm seeing on this forum so I am offering some pics to any interested ones of Maidan Square in Kiev. If you would like to check out some of my photos you can look for me on Facebook by my email address: grantshort@hotmail.com
Thanks! And please send comments and questions.
Ukraine: work in Chernobyl Nuclear PP:
I feel not only safe, but my money is going further because the Hrivna is going so low.

I can help you get set up with a translator who works for $10/hour. She has an account on Vk.com and seems very legitimate and helpful.
Also I recommend getting an app that can be viewed and used offline as a translator. You will suddenly be much less helpless. It is a HUGE help to have someone who is bi-lingual in your corner before you get here. I can probably send you a few names, but it is up to them how much time and effort they put into you;)
Ukraine: Jews! Stay away from Ukraine!:
I don't understand your humor maybe. What about the Jews? I know there is Russian propaganda saying that somebody is attacking Russians and Jews. Fill me in. I get myself in trouble all the time for throwing out what I think are very educated jokes that no one understands.
Ukraine: Work Environment:
Hi! Re moving to Ukraine.
I am living right in Kiev now for the past month when all this started here with the protests and now an almost full scale revolution.
I may be completely naïve, but I really don't see the danger for someone to live and work here as long as you still have the work. I've visited the City Square where all the action is. It is between the protesters and the government regime currently in power. There is no animosity towards those passing or watching.,.And I don't even chance that. I live in a little apartment on the East side of the Dniepro River right behind the River Pub near Gogol Pub. I can see the big Church and bridge, statue. The only clue I would even have without the news is the black smoke from time to time coming from the City Square.
My relatives are all begging me to come home. And tell me any minute there will be full scale blood shed and violence and Martial law and that the airports will be closed...but as of yet I am seeing none of this. Its just too big of a city for all that nonsense to be everywhere it seems.
But again, you have to decide for yourself. I went to Cherginov which is closer to Chernobyl and you would never even know anything is happening.
I hope this helps. I am having a great time. I wish you the best if you decide to come. I think maybe the only other thing I can say is that I live her month to month waiting for my work season to start back up in America. So I really only go to the ATM and take out enough money from my American checking account for a few days worth of food and expenses. Use my card when I can, and pay 1 month of rent ahead and that's it. So I don't invest myself anywhere for any long length of time.
Ukraine: Christmas Dinner:
I'm listening to any responses on the question regarding Turkey. I just assumed it would be easy to buy one.
Ukraine: Apartment rental:
Hi all,
I'm planning to visit Kiev for a couple months starting this January. I am looking for an apartment with at least 2 bedrooms right off the river and Pavla Tychyna Ave. (Spelling?)
ANY help would be welcome with a realtor or landlord.
Thanks!
Ukraine: Semi-Retired in Ukraine?:
Hey!
I'm not over 60, but I'll be trying to forge my way into Kiev this winter hopefully after January 1 2014. If you are interested in keeping a little contact I'd appreciate it.
