Thailand: Ed Visa Renewal Challenge at Savannakhet Border:

Recently invested 20,000 Baht for my fiancee to attend her second year of Thai language lessons at TLC in Hua Hin. She being from the Philippines needs to renew yearly by exiting the border at Savannakhet. She returned this morning a day early from her grueling 15-16 hour bus ride without her visa being renewed. The female immigration officer purportedly was condescending, demeaning and humiliated Jean. She demanded she speak fluent Thai and insinuated she was working and only using the ED visa as a vehicle to stay here. What about the ASEAN Alliance? If she spoke fluent Thai why would she need the schooling? Jean is a diligent student and studies when at home while attending 2x per week at TLC. I have attempted to send this same missive to TLC but their website appears to be a challenge also. TLC apparently did not coach and consult with her properly prior to the trip. Jean is visibly hurting and very emotional and tired with a complete wasted 2 days. I am livid and will post this on thaivisa.com also. If you have a similar situation ask your school how they prepare you for this trip!

Panama: Affordable Rental:

I did due diligence and went to Ecuador and Panama and was scheduled for Belize and Costa Rica but airplane issues negated those trips. Checked Thailand and now live in a condo for 400.00 per month on the beach near Hua Hin. The flight from the US is only downside because of the distance. Have Canadians here from Mexico now snowbirding and playing Pickleball with Americans, Australians, Brits, etc. My point in all this is due diligence. Thailand is great!

Thailand: Please, recommend an immigration lawyer:

Mod & David at Hua Hin Legal Services could be of great assistance. I sought the help of the agency you reflect in your emails but realized there is a much better way. I concur with the thaivisa.com recommendation and a DIY approach which I utilized coming over on a 30 day visa exempt shortly turning to a visa for retirement purposes.

Thailand: Shipping clothes etc from USA:

FYI, Things to take-my thoughts!! 1. Bayer 81 mg aspirin enough for a year 2. Vitamins you take-very expensive here if they have it 3. Under Armour/Nike sports clothing gear 4. In home workout equipment resistance bands 5. If large foot (12 area) take several pairs of sports/ shoes I just finally closed out my 200.00 a month storage locker here in US. You can get all the clothes you need there. 6. I am taking an extra bag full of Amazon things on the plane plus golf clubs so I will be paying extra fees for that 7. Pickleball Paddle Welcome & Carpe Vitam! Ric

Panama: Moving to Panama:

PanamaBob, My fiancé is Filipina and is in one of the countries that a visa is required before entering Panama. I would like for us to split time between Thailand and Boquete/Volcano area. I even have to route her away from the U.S. On her flight. Have you had any experience with anyone from a country not visa exempt into Panama? We would stay 4-6 months per visit.- thanks-Ric
