Argentina: Moving to Buenos Aires in 4 days HELP!!:

I was just going to start a new topic on banking outside the country and saw this. My situation is a bit different though as I have no interest in living in BA. I'm leaning toward Cordoba in a small town maybe even farther west so I wondered if Chile might be a better option for me? Could possibly take the train back and forth then. Anyone know what banking is like there vs Uruguay? I would just be setting it up to receive Disability funds form my US bank. So it would be a regular deposit not a large amount. Any thoughts on which country is safer to keep money in? littlejohn

Argentina: Hunting and fishing:

I have seen several videos on Youtube about hunting and fishing in Argentina. One thing I can't seem to find is regulations in English. Someone told me their are few laws on hunting and fishing and even fewer enforced. I find that hard to believe so would like to know from some people who have done some hunting and fishing. I also would like to know just how good the hunting fishing and trapping is there. I have several reasons to want this info. Though I'm a bit out of shape and practice now a hunting guide used to be my dream job. I used to be quite the hunter. Also if hunting, fishing and trapping are easy it could mean cheap food for my family.

Argentina: Food allergies:

I have serious problems with MSG (mono-sodium glutamate). I'm wondering how common it is in Argentina. I have to be very careful with processed foods or anything with mixed seasonings or condiments in the US and Philippines it seems to be similar.

Argentina: Learn Argentine Spanish:

I and my wife would like to learn Argentine Spanish. Does anyone know of a downloadable or online course that is good? Preferably free but at least not overly expensive.

Argentina: Argentine visa:

I have heard that Us citizen can go to Argentina 90 days at a time without a visa I assume this is still true? More importantly my wife and step son aren't US citizens they are Philippine citizens. So I am wondering if something similar is available for them or would we need to go to the Argentine Embassy to get Visas for them. Anyone know what the rules are for Filipinos?

Argentina: Argentina Today, Pre Crisis?:

Since the official and unofficial exchange rates are widening I am wondering if Argentina is headed for another monetary collapse? What do you people with boots on the ground think?

Argentina: Cheap arable land:

Can anyone recommend a good area with cheap arable land. I am seriously considering moving my family (wife and 4 small children) to Argentina (from the Philippines) and want a place where I can develop a mostly self reliant farm and hopefully make money at it as well. I want cheap land to develop myself. But not looking to buy right away just looking for the best area to settle in and explore for future purchase. Looking for an area that gets enough natural rainfall that irrigation isn't normally needed. Doesn't have to be prime farmland would prefer a few hills myself as I grew up in the Missouri Ozarks. Can someone give a ballpark figure for bare land? I have heard Cordoba is nice but expensive and personally I think I would prefer a bit cooler climate though my wife might prefer it there as she is from the tropics. What pictures I have seen it looks a bit flat too. Also I'm curious if its possible to find a decent paying farm or gardening job there. I spent most of my first 30 years on a dairy, beef and forage crops farm so I have a lot of varied experience. I'm 45 now. By decent pay I mean at least equivalent to US$1,000 a month for full time work. I am currently on disability and not sure I could hold a full time position but might give it a try depending on the type of work. I'm sure I could work part time though with a flexible boss and my wife is a good worker as well. In my experience dairy farms in the US often have trouble getting enough help even if they pay well so figured that is the most likely opportunity for me and my wife I'm sure can learn it too. However my preference would be gardening organically with a goal of producing the finest quality as in most nutritious food possible. Any foreigners looking for a good gardener to grow high quality food? At present I and my wife only know a few words of Spanish so until we learn it English would be necessary. Oh and good hunting and fishing would be great both for my enjoyment and for adding to the larder.

Argentina: Getting money into Argentina:

Well I'm not sure what is best but wouldn't it be possible to use Bit-coin? Surely their are lots of Argentinians that would rather have Bit-coin than the local currency.
