I have lived here since 2002. I didn't speak a word of Spanish before I moved here and speak very little now. NO problems. Do the shopping , banking, servicing of our car, etc. Have been hospitalized 3 times, went through 6 months of Chemo treatments with NO language problems. People make it as tough as they want and then complain. Simple rule, "IF YOU CAN'T ADAPT, GET OUT "

I chose Ecuador because I married an Ecuadorian. I live outside of Guayaquil and I speak no Spanish. I have been to P.I., Costa Rica, Honduras, Belize, Mexico and have lived in Panama. I'll take Ecuador anyday.

Most of the developments between Via la Costa (Progresso) and Posorja are NOT near the beach areas. There are a lot of rental properties and a few properties for sale.

I just purchased 2 R/T tickets from AA at the AA store in Policentral in Guayaquil. The discount price was $1300.00 less than anywhere I looked on line included AA.com.
