United Kingdom: Suggestion required for city to live:

I can't recommend Brighton enough! Very inclusive and very safe. It's not quite as cheap as I'd like it to be, but it's only a stones throw from London and there's so much to do. The people are probably the friendliest I've ever met and there are dozens of top schools.

Global Expat Forum: Best Beach City/Town to Live?:

Hi TheWOLF, I might be sliiiiightly bias, but I'd recommend Brighton. It might not be sunny 100% of the year, but the sunny characters make up for it...and then some! But if you were really looking for the things you've mentioned, have you considered Nassau?

Global Expat Forum: USA Exit:

Hi Jsanford98, I'm not as well travelled as the other users on here so I'm probably not best placed to offer advice on where to go.... but have you considered online TEFL courses https://www.theteflacademy.com/online-course ? Might be a great way to learn in your free time while you look around for where you want to go. Then once you've decided you can enjoy your new surroundings with something to fall back on if you ever needed a few extra pennies. Could I ask why you'd rather not live in Asia?

Global Expat Forum: ESL certification:

I definitely recommend Dave's ESL Forum too. Hope you find what you're looking for!

Global Expat Forum: Where to Retire:

Great post, and a super interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing!

United Kingdom: Supplemental Health Insurance - Options:

I have lived in the UK for quite a while now having moved from France, and the NHS is great. Having not been treated in America I can't comment on comparisons there, but I don't know anyone who uses private healthcare here. Saying that I don't know what you're used to so maybe keep an alternative on standby until you've seen it for yourself? Ed

Global Expat Forum: Option(s) for living with a family abroad:

If you try a site called gumtree.com, it is a kind of network where people advertise for all sorts of things. Many households offer sharing options. It is common to pay for this though it is cheaper than many rental costs.

United Kingdom: Month-to-Month Rentals in the UK:

That sounds pretty cool. Do you mean you will be spending 1-3 months in each place or the whole time overall is 1-3 months? Either way, you can use a website called gumtree.com which is a nationwide site that lists many different things. You can select options for renting/sharing houses which may help. Other sites that may help you are spareroom.com which has a UK site. Or you could find a rental property on zoopla.co.uk/rightmove.com and these may feature shorter term properties too. It depends on the house/landlord whether it is furnished or not, and often different places tend to feature different trends. Or, some landlords may be willing to provide you with certain furnishings, or at least white goods. There is also a furniture rental service which would help, roomservice by CORT (http://www.roomservicebycort.com/) offer this service in both short and long term, and cater to expats needs. Aside from renting furniture, you could also buy cheap bits from gumtree or eBay and then sell them on. Or there is a site called freecycle.org where you can join your local network and people offer anything they don't want for free! Although you may be asked to offer something first so they know you are playing fair. Good luck with your travels! Ed

United Kingdom: Relocating to the UK with my kids - HELP!:

Have you considered an au pair? There are loads of agencies which will be able to help you. The British Au Pair Agency may be a good start: http://www.bapaa.org.uk/displaypage.asp?page=1 With regards to education, the twin girls will almost be ready to start I imagine, so as Pallega mentioned, you may need to be quite quick. Research the local schools to your new home and work out through area, distance, achievements and success scores which one is the best. Visiting the schools in question is also very important (if at all possible). Best of luck! Ed
