Indonesia: Visa help- US gal moving to Bali in January:
Hi all, my name is Sara. Grateful for this forum! Any
experience shared / information is greatly appreciated. I am moving to Ubud in January from
Los Angeles. I plan to be in Bali for at least 1 year. I will not be working when I arrive,
However eventually would like to begin work (i do energy Healing work and angel card readings; lots of new age-y stuff). Can you tell me- what type of Visa can I apply for? The options I have seen are:
1. 30 day travel visa (which can be extended)
2. Social - cultural Visa
3. Work/employment visa (which I believe I need
To have work lined up ahead of time for this)
Also if I start out with one type of visa, can I then
Switch to another down the line?
Thank you kindly for your feedback!
Sara
Indonesia: Itinerary Suggestions:
Hi Buck, not sure I you're still traveling. I recently
spent time in Bali and loved it! You can stay inland
In Ubud - I enjoyed The Alaya hotel right in the heart
of it all - about $150 US dollars a night (for a standard room)
Right outside of Ubud is a fabulous spot called The
Swasti Eco cottages - $70/ night. This one is on
An organic farm - great food. Great , quaint lodging. Can rent
Bikes , motorbikes across the street. As far as restaurants, I enjoyed
Clear Cafe, Petani restaurant and I heard the Jazz Cafe
And Casa Luna are great.
I also spent time at the Elephant Safari park in Taro
Which is something I highly recommend if you
Enjoy that kind of thing.
I spent time at Nusa Dua (beach) which I loved. Kuta is more
touristy. I heard Seminyak beach is nice too.
