Philippines: Annual Report:
the process is quick easy in Metro. Simply provide your card which is then checked with their computers to be sure current, answers questions which usually is verification of address and pay the 310 pesos. If you are on temp pr status you are required to still comply or the process will have to be re done.

Philippines: Hanging out with expats.:
Would welcome opportunity to meet with expats in my area. Live in Valensuela City-any members nearby?
Philippines: Traffic rules:
Traffic rules, although there are many, seemed to be suggestions and not the law. Even my brother-and sister-in-law who now live in California refuse to drive here. I have learned very quickly that in the metro area it is wise to either drive more to the left of center or right to prevent motorcycles from passing both sides. A devise such as dash cam is a must have to protect you. I find it odd that even the police do not obey rules so clearly no leadership from above. It clearly can be enforced as expats from Subic will tell you and on these narrow roads seems not to matter that vendors set up on one lane or jeepney drivers tend to use two lanes. The good news is if you are patient generally speaking you can do any maneuver you wish.
Philippines: Insulated Metal Roof & Ceilings Hardiboard v Marine Plywood:
Recently re did our lanai in hardiboard for several reasons. First and most important i have a 2x2 frame truss system so nailing was very easy. Second one of the fire safety since i experienced first hand a fire that destroyed downtown Calubian and the units with hardiboard enabled the tenants to get out safely where the plywood ones burned quickly. You will find the cost is similar and you have choices in thickness however dimpling the nails is not easy. We used joint cement with a fiberglass self adhesiv e backing for the joints. You will be well advised to acquire in us several different size knifes for feathering out the compound as was unable to locate any here in Manila area. Would be interested to know if you are planing on using one side or double side foil insulation however long term benefits are clear in either case. Wood is extremely expensive here and probably should be treated for termites prior to encasing same. I have used marine plywood to build a sandbox and it did not last past one year even using the 3/4 inch product. Good luck with your remodeling project.
