Argentina: electric appliances:

I am moving from Mexico to Buenos Aires March 1 (2004), and the transporting of my personal effects is driving me crazy. Because I am legally limited, as a tourist, to what I can take on the plane, I'd like to know if it's worth it to take my appliances--such as telephone answering machine, CD burner, electric blanket, electric toothbrush--etc. and buy converters and adapters, or whether these items are inexpensive and easy to find in Argentina. I would appreciate any help you can give me. This transportation problem (I also have a cat, a painting, and a computer) is making me panic! Many thanks!
