Sounds awesome. Wished I could be there!

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Sangolqui:

I recently had the opportunity to have a short visit here. I was wondering if there were any expats there that could give me more insight to this beautiful city. Thanks

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Ecuador Trip Customs:

Although that sounds like alot of electronic "stuff" I just returned to the states through Houston with no problems going or coming with my electronics. The only things I ended up using was my camera and laptop. Have a great trip. I loved it there.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Gringos really welcome?:

I really appreciate all the different points of views everyone gives. I have learned alot. I will be in Quito May 29-June12 seeing if it may be a good fit for me to retire. Even though it has been awhile since traveling overseas I lived in Spain for 6 months. I remember even back then to just blend in. Didn't know much spanish but enough to get around and not act like a gringo. I had more fun and made alot of friends. When Americans were near and acting like they were at home and everyone should speak English, I would cringe and just keep going. Sad! That was 40 yrs ago at that attitude still exists. But I want to go where I will learn from the natives, make friends and live their life style. I consider it a privilege to be able to do something like this and wherever I land I plan on giving back what I can. So for those who want to live their old life style in a new country you are the one losing out on what could be a very rewarding and enjoyable retirement. This is not meant to offend anyone, just an observation. Hope to meet some expats while there and learn more.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: A visit to cuenca:

I will be visiting Quito Mat 29th- June 12, 2014. I am fortunate to have an expat rent me a room, and am really excited. I would like to check out Cuenca for a few days and am looking for an expat that may be able to rent me a room for a few days. I plan on early retirement next year , yeh!, and am on a scouting tour. Thanks for any help. Elaine

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Nursing homes in ecuador:

Sounds like a possible business opportunity for someone. I am a RN here in the states and plan on moving to Equador in a few years. Preplanning is always a good idea and got me thinking of somethings I need to put into place before the move. It also got me to thinking of the possible business and work opportunies. Thanks to all the contributors

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Anyone be interested in giving me a tour:

Looking to check out Quito and area for possible retirement. Is anyone interested in providing a improtu tour. Nothing fancy and I go with the flow. Of course you will be paid. Plan is beginning of June 2014. Thanks
