Belize: Better in Belize : Sanctuary Belize : Dreamscapes : Orchid Bay:

I mean no offense or disrespect but how does one distinguish or differentiate between these people/operators etc? I see and read the reviews of Dreamscapes Sanctuary Belize. I don't see negative comments regarding Better in a Belize Eco Village or Orchid Bay or Consejo Shores.... I am I missing the negatives ? Have people negative experiences with any of these others or not? I guess it is silly of anyone to trust people nowadays with internet and people pretending to being what ever they can to take advantage of trusting people. We will tour Belize in next two months but don't want to waste time and money sorting out the good reputable people from those I just as soon never meet or deal with. Belize: Guns - Land regulations - Zoning????:

I am certain many expat hopeful maybes all have the same insecurity regarding what real estate agents or groups are most reputable. Given the reputation Belize has would any expats be able and willing to comment to me publicly or privately about their experiences with any real estate people or groups. I am particularly interested in deciding between more acreage vs gated communities. We would obviously be looking at areas inland and most likely outside San Ignacio or Stan Creek regions. Although we would consider a similar type of location closer to the shore if the beaches near there were available and an attraction. Side topics of curiosity, we understand the availability of firearms is limited. As citizens could we expect to obtain any necessary firearm permits for shotguns, rifles or pistols? If permitted do any expats have experience obtaining and or importing their guns. Are crossbows legal and or regulated also? Are there any areas where zoning laws exist and are enforced? Or maybe I should ask how prevalent are zoning laws? I am kind of assuming and hoping zoning laws are not an issue outside of "city limits". Environmental regulations - we are aware of beach set backs but are curious about any such regulation agencies that concern themselves with rivers, wetlands etc. We recognize the districts of Belize. Are these politically active, as in do they have a government structure similar to states or even counties in the US of A. ? Are there web sites which might be helpful in identifying the local information for the various districts? I know some of these questions have answers on line but sometimes they are written as answers and sometimes they are either not quite right, plain wrong or just an opinion. We are interested in any comments people will share. Private emails can be sent to sp112754@gmail.com.
