Ecuador: What is the Best coast town to stay for a 2 months?:

Hi 3 ladies in our sixties from Canada BC coming in Nov- We plan to snowbird for 4 months. Not moving permanently. Buy one way ticket to Quito, then hoping you will tell us your favorite beach towns. We want to rent a 3 BR house or condo with pool for 2-3 months, ( any leads are welcome) then to Lima and Costa Rica. Ideal beach? Can walk for miles, away from the madding crowds, swimmable ocean. Some grocery or produce store close by. Oh and throw in a palm tree for shade... I heard that in rainy season rental prices drop to half- correct? Carene

Ecuador: Living on The coast versus Inland:

I am 60 Single lady living in Victoria BC Canada I own a floathome in a harbor and run a B&B here in summers THere are 3 of us ladies here who are committed to coming to Equador for 6 months from Oct 2014. Here is the question Seems like most expats heads for Quito or Cuenca One of my friends are very keen on Vilcabamba I researched it. I think I will be bored I am a serial entrepreneur and love being by the ocean. Is it simply too hot and humid living on the coast? Or is it OK for some months? Or cant people afford to rent on the coast? I wont buy there- I own properties in Canada and will rent for 6 months for 3 ladies. ANY info most appreciated Carene
