Panama: any reliable rentals or agents?:
It sounds like we are at the wrong end of the country for you but there are highland areas in our area too. RPM is based near Coronado and we service the beach communities. However, there are the communities of Sora, Altos del Maria and El Valle which are all beautiful mountain areas. Before you make a decision on location, you need to experience both the dry and rainy seasons. We are Canadians who have been in Panama for 7 years. Check out our site at www.WeAreRiviera.com. We are always happy to help and can provide many references. Be careful out there!
Cheers, Hugh
Panama: Need to go to a hospital today. How is the San Fernando in PC?:
Glad to.hear you're feeling better. For future reference, we have used San Fernando hospital in PC almost exclusively for the past 7 years for both big and small issues. Absolutely top notch facility in every way possible. Even the food is good! If you liked the SF Clinic in Coronado you would love the hospital.
Stay Well!
Panama: borax, castile soap, washing soda?:
A few weeks ago I saw 20 Mule Team Borax on the shelf in Discovery Center.
Costa Rica: Gold Coast Area Safety - For real?:
We looked seriously at CR a few years back and after extensive research chose Panama. We have now been here for over 6 years and love it. We selected the Panama Riviera or Gold Coast (Panama version) and specifically the Coronado area. We can easily see why it has been chosen as the best place to live or retire by numerous reports. The latest I see is that Panama is the "happiest" place to live. Sure we have our crime but show me anyplace that is immune. BTW, lots of Canadians are flocking here. Not very many expats leave for a better location to the best of our knowledge.
Panama: Boquette rentals or Accommodation:
The humidity at the beaches actually starts to drop after November. What is best is purely subjective. Contact me if you want beautiful beaches, accommodations, restaurants, sun and fun. Boquete is beautiful but boring. I spent a week there one day!
