Ecuador: Learning Spanish in Ecuador:

luto2home, Maybe it is a good idea to get a head start. Have a free Spanish Lesson Online on me. Just go to www.learnedbyme.com and sign up using the promo code MOTW (that stands for Middle of the World). Once you enter the promo code you will get a free 45 minute lesson taught by the professor of your choice in the menu. They are all professors from University of San Francisco Quito, or other Ecuador universities. Great teachers! If you like the free lesson you can always purchase more at only $15 a lesson. Yes I know its not the CHEAPEST because they are actually university professors and not just bilingual people winging it. Email me if you have problems. themiddleoftheworld@gmail.com ANYONE else in here who wants a free lesson can feel free to sign up also. Mike

Ecuador: Exploring the idea of retirement in Ecuador:

Z51, Funny. HGTV wanted me to do be on there show but it felt like more of a hassle than a rewarding experience so I declined. Your doing the right thing by asking on this forum. research from multiple sources. There are plenty of helpful people and business owners down here. There are also some unhelpful ones. Use your instincts to decide who to work with and ask questions. You can also check out my blog post on researching Ecuador by copying and pasting this link into your browser: http://themiddleoftheworldecuador.blogspot.com/2013/12/researching-living-in-ecuador-online.html I am Mike, the owner of The Middle of the World, Ecuador Travel and Living. Please take the time to read his column called "Sketches of Cuenca", in which he will be interviewing Expats in Cuenca and sharing information to potential expats about life in Cuenca. He is an outstanding writer and I am confident adding his column to my site will be entertaining and helpful to all. Bookmark his Column: http://themiddleoftheworldecuador.blogspot.com/p/sketches-of-cuenca.html With this said, Middle of the World is still looking for committed writers in other areas of the city that would like to have their own column on our site.
