Dominican Republic: This family needs a break!:

VERY DIFFICULT to live here. education is sky high if you want 'quality'. dom. standards are extremely poor. been here over 10 years, 2 kids & will probably be heading back to the states end of school year for educational reasons! unless you are independently wealthy or have a successful business that can be run from here, it is economically difficult! LOTS OF SCAMS, CON ARTISTS & NOOOO LAW HERE! poverty is pervasive. i've been terribly disheartened with my experience here. but others may have different opinions.

I'm a bilingual-spanish mom of 2 young school-age kids, have been living in Santiago since 2010, hold 2 masters from the states & am looking for ANY kind of (legal) work to keep the brain-gear from getting rusty!
