Kuwait: anyone else worried?:
No worries here. There is one happening on the border north of us and ya know, and it doesn't really affect the everyday worker either. The only thing that worries me is Fox news and CNN scaring everyone at home.
Kuwait: moving to kuwait:
From what I have found, and I'm no expert. Most of the places do a locked down lease if it is a furnished apt. If it is unfurnished then it is usually month to month. Some places may want you to do a six month lease for unfurnished, but not many. If you go to the "Salmiya" area, I would suggest somewhere right off of 30. Even Shaab is right off of gulf road and right off of 30. If you don't like traffic and are working in the further away, like Arifjan, I would suggest somewhere between Fintas and Mahboula (roads 209-211) off of 30. You don't get the traffic and a lot of resteraunts in the area deliver. I live in Mahboula and the downfall is the roads are unimproved, well really non-existant. But I am right off the main "gulf" road so it's no problem. Fahaheel is close enough to get to, and far enough to not have that flow of traffic.
It all comes down to what you want. Many choices, just as co-workers as well.

Kuwait: Beach Clubs:
I would hold out on the beach club until you have been here for a bit. I know some companies offer deals, but honestly unless you are off a lot and can use their services, it's a spendy deal. A good place to go and feel relaxed is the Messilah Beach Club at the end of the 6th ring, it is only 500 fils per person entry, they have tables and chairs available and if your timing is right you can get a spot next to a BBQ grill and have a good picnic. They have volleyball nets set up, and from what I have found in going there everyone is super friendly and the place stays pretty clean (Kuwait standards of clean of course).
Also, if you are into windsurfing/kiteboarding, there is a group of expats and locals that hang out at the McDonalds beach on Gulf road when the wind is right. The beach is ok, but the people kite there are all good to talk to and willing to give pointers on newbies such as myself.
Enjoy and living over here is all on what you make of it, the biggest thing I miss is happy hour at a pub, but you get used to not having that.

Kuwait: moving to Kuwait:
I will be looking for a 2/3 bedroom place in the Fintas area or off of 6 or 7 ring. What is some info I will need to know on renting. I'm living north of the city right now and am ready to move closer to civilization. It'll be on my own dime, but having a life will be worth it.
Also, what are good ex-pat friendly agencies to use?
I'm going to be ready to move in Feb/March.

Kuwait: Single scene in Kuwait???:
I'm new to Kuwait and will be here for at least the next two years. I was wondering what kind of scene there is here, and how to get involved in it? I'm also interested in windsurfing and fishing. Where are the reccomended places for that as well?
As far as nightlife, I know that there are many "private" parties that happen. I was wondering what the best way to find that scene is.
Also, as an American, I was wondering if anyone knew what the deal with the Embassy Bar is? I head there are certain hours for non-embassy workers. How do I get "invited" and what's the scoop on having a nice cold one?
That should be it for now.
Kuwait: Wanted!:
What is your e-mail?
I heard about the disco night, had a friend that went and said it was a great time.
