Ok I've read buy a cheap one BRING it to Ecuador and buy phone cards. I've gone to Best Buy and spoken to people from ATT. They say I need an unlocked phone. These run around $5oo. I have a Straight Talk LG phone and they say this will not work. Please does someone have a simple answer for calling the US from Ecuador with a cell phone.

Ecuador: First visit:

We are coming to Ecuador for a 3 month stay near Salinas/Ballenita, our first visit. We both have prior DUI's on our records will this pose a problem for our first visit and if we decide to re-locate I keep hearing about CBC, will this be a problem for a Visa. We are both retired.
