Panama: RUSSIA FORCES ITS HANDS:

Everything reported in this article is untrue!!!! All of it. I think this is a troll!!! Russia is weak. They have no oil and gas to even sell to Europe. Europe buys all its gas and oil from the US. And, they are buying it cheap from us due to the kindness of our President Barrack Obama, a man who I worship and adore. Don't listen to this troll!!! The idiot thinks that our strong, good as gold dollar is actually weak. Invest in the dollar and also, invest in oil company's. Great investment.

Panama: THE END OF THE USA DOLLAR:

Sir, this is a Panama fórum. We fórum members do not like to hear that something might be wrong in Paradise. We are Xpats. We use the US dollar, which by the way is better than gold. More stable and is backed by the US governments 18 trillion dollars in debt. Debt rules. We just print the money when we need it. No worry's. If other country's don't like it we just attack them with sanctions or just outright war. The US is clearly a superior nation and the dollar is King. And, it will be King forever. No need for any of us Xpats to give what you are talking about the slightest bit of concern. I got the dollar. It is strong. I buy lots of stuff with it. And, I intend to continue doing so for the rest of my life. I deserve it. I am American. And, Obama deserves it. And, the 49 million people in the US who use food stamps deserve it. Why should an American have to work anyway? We are the best and the smartest. Thanx for your rediculous post on the panamá fórum.

Panama: why do gringos move back ?:

That is the reason it is so important to rent here until you get the feeling that its permanent. Buying before then is as risky as marriage.

Panama: Las Tablas:

I don't think there is a demand for guides in Las Tablas. It is a very small town. Just go there and start walking around. If you don't have a car, just the buses that you see. Just ride around and check things out. Or, maybe you can find a cab that will ride you around for awhile for a Price? Its just a small town. I have lived in that área for 5 years and intend to stay there. I like it but thats just my opinión. Very few folks like it. Nothing to do for them. No good restaurants. No good hotels. No infrastructure, no crime, Lots of dirty fonda's to eat at. Lots of dirty cantina's. Lots of dirty 5 and dime stores. Wash your hands a lot while you are there!!!! Oh, don't eat at the fonda's if you have a sensitive stomach either. Good luck.

Panama: BUILDING A HOME:

Once you get there start making friends with people that have homes on the beach. Look at their homes. Ask them what they would do differently if they had the chance. On one here on the fórum knows what type of home you want to build or how big is your Budget etc. You gotta get here and start living. Ask your nieghbors a million and one questions and they will tell you all the nitty gritty. This fórum isn't going to be able to replace your personal experience in Panama that will shape your wants and needs. Lots of things you do here will be trial and error also.

Panama: getting my toys there:

This is just my opinión. There is no right or wrong answer for this. If you have the money to ship your toys here then ship them. I suggest you do not do this. Buy your toys here. A dirt bike might even cost less here than in the US. Check on this. Check on the availability of used gear also. Craig's list or encentro24. Sell your toys here if you decide that Panama sucks later. You will get a good Price for your used gear here. You need to live here awhile to decide which type of gear to buy or what is appropriate for this are also. Take you time. Explore your options.

Panama: moving around in panama:

First find an área that you seem to like as a whole. Such as the Las Santos Province. Or, Herrera Province. Find short term rental there, month to month, or whatever. Buy a car. You can use buses to look around but it isn't as thorough or as fast. Then start looking around. Don't get bogged down by buying goods until you find the área you believe you wish to live. Moving around is easy if you can fit everything you own in your car. You can cover a lot of ground doing this in a few months.

Panama: pedasi:

Pedasi is definitely isolated. But, it is very nice. It is also very expensive compared to Los Tablas. But, there is an xpat community that lives there. Many xpats there are well off. If you need to shop, you are very far away from stores. The closest town that has shopping is Las Tablas and the shopping there is limited. Grocery shopping requires a 42 kilometer car or bus ride if you wish to shop at the supercarne in Las Tablas. Bus ride costs I think 2.50 each way and you can't really lug much grocery's in the bus. Obviously you need a car if you wish to live in Pedasi. For decent shopping you need to travel to Chitre which is an additional 30 kilometers. I don't care for Pedasi except as a place to spend the day or part of the day. Then i am very excited about leaving when the time comes. But that's just me. You might like it. Everyone is different.

Panama: Tropical fruit and veggy gardening.:

I never see anyone asking questions or wanting to have a discussion on tropical fruit and veggy gardening in Panama. I am interested in making contact with folks that are currently gardening or interested in gardening in Panama. I am currently in the process of trying to learn how to cultivate fruits and veggy's. I will share what Little I now with anyone who is interested. Any experts out there? Panama, contrary to popular belief, is gardening hell for most Xpats. Its a whole different world.

Panama: Nightlife:

In Las Tablas there really isn't any night life in the traditional sense. We have cantina's on every Street corner it seems and they are just dirty places to swill beer. We also have 2 brothels across the Street from each other and they are just dirty places with dirty women in them that are trying to make a living. Panama city offers more in that category.
