Uruguay: "Chemtrails":

The US, Canada and even Panama have alot of Chemtrails. When we were in Uruguay for a week I never saw one. Does anyone know more about this terrible action...if they do it down there? We want to head to the southern hemisphere, but were shocked to find out Monsanto is there with their GMO crops....thanks

Uruguay: Apostille clarity:

So, even though there is no Uruguay consulate in Washington state I was given the # of an apostille person in Calif. who sent all my documents to Wash, DC, Now, upon closer research, all our I understand vital records have to be apostilled in the state of residency (where born, married, etc) and only the Soc. Sec. document can be apostilled in Wash. DC. So for all of you newbies, I learned this lesson the hard way.....

Uruguay: Apostillas...for Residency:

I am just not sure what ALL needs to be apostilled. I have alot done, but should I have escrow accounts showing income also apostilled? Health records? I'll wait for the fingerprint and FBI once there I guess. Its mindboggling .....trying to do it myself. But have contacts thanks to all you expats if needed. Just the Apostillas confuse me....at this point THanks!

Uruguay: Time limit.....:

I was told, Morell ...that I could go to an office in Maldonado and pay a fair bit of money to extend our stay past 90 days or go to another country for a few days. I've been trying to get all our proof of income to immigrate....it seems really a feat to get legal residency. We own a home there just about and will have an electric bill soon when we get there. It would be so less stressful if we didn't have to sweat the paperwork ....just yet. Thanks for the info in advance. You really are a great source of information ..and crazyfarmer too. Hey, any old musicians out there near Piriopolis?

Uruguay: new law in US July 1st 2014:

I've read that this law will impact expats' banking. I don't mind paying Uruguay taxes, but I've alrady been taxed on the money I'll be swifting. Supposedly foreign banks will have to report to the US IRS if an expat has over 50k in their bank...a bunch of paperwork for them! Will BBVA report back? Costa Rica had some banks who wouldn't work with the US. The IRS is trying to stop offshore caches....

Uruguay: flouridated water:

Do they sell purified water in the grocery stores in Uruguay? look up "50 reasons not to drink flouridated water" on the internet.... I read Uruguay is on the list of flouridated countries....

Uruguay: Finding Crab to eat in Uruguay:

My husband is craving CRAB but we don't want to eat the seafood in the states. We hope to move next November....are there any restaurants in Piriapolis/nearby who serve Crab? Also, any crawfish? Thanks guys!

Uruguay: new expats arriving in Uruguay first of July:

Just want to say, THANKS EXPATS for all your support...you give us courage to go out of the box

Uruguay: documents necessary:

I have read that the marriage licence and birth certificate must be issued within 30 days. Is this saying that the certified copies we already have ready to be apostilled are too old to use? Do I have to get new copies??? So much to learn....thanks for anyone's help.
