South Africa: Two twenty somethings hoping to live and work in Cape Town:

I am 26 and have worked in IT for the last 8 years in various organisations. My girlfriend is the same age and is a trained journalist who has worked both on print and radio stations for 5 years and has an English degree. We currently live in the Uk and wish to relocate for a different way of life and somewhere sunnier! My girlfriend spent a year travelling through Central and East Africa and Durban and Jo'burg some years ago, she was told then that Cape Town was far more picturesque and safer. Is this the case? How do we go about finding work there, either in our fields or elsewhere? Is there a list of skilled professions which they require out there, like in Australia? What sort of accommodation would be available to us to rent? and on what sort of lease terms? Any particular areas of Cape Town, you recommend? Any help or advice you could give us would be much appreciated. regards. aweild@whis.biz
