Uganda: "Musungu" prices for accomodation?:

Moving to Kampala to join my Ugandan girlfriend. I have heard that when I look for an apartment or house to rent I should let her be "the face" of the deal in order to avoid higher musungu prices. (ie. Price she would get could be 200-300 USD less than I could get.) Is that anyone's experience or information?
