Malaysia: Visa for my spouse:

I am considering a move to KL with my employer. I have a longterm girlfriend (we are not married) here in the UK (we are both UK citizens) What are the options for visa's I would require a working visa. Could my girlfriend be classed as a dependant? Could my girlfriend apply for a working visa in her own right? If so can this done once inside Malaysia ie could she arrive on a tourist visa then apply for working visa without leaving Malaysia for any period of time? Would we be better off if we were married?
