Bahamas: Real estate price drop:
Hi,
If you do a little research, you will see that the same phenomenon is occurring in the whole region. I believe this is due to the slumping American economy and the fall of the Canadian dollar.
Dominica: Schools in Dominica:
Hi,
The school system is not too bad, but it is far from being to the level of France or the US.
We lived in Calibishie a few years back. Our neighbors sent their little girl to Ross Medical School. They have classes for the young children of their students and staff. Good US curriculum.
Belize: Ambergris Barrier Reef Condos:
Hi,
Could you please tell me which forum you are talking about with regard to business people in San Pedro?
Thank you so much!
Dominica: where in dominica:
Yes, go to Calibishie on the North East coast. It is a quaint village and people are nice. We lived there for several years.
A word of advice though: be careful as several tourists have been brutally attacked during the last few years. If you go hiking, it is better to do so with a guide. Be also careful where you decide to stay.
Have fun!
Belize: IBC insurance for real estate:
Good evening,
I have been a little fast and I eliminated an e-mail where someone seemed to say that IBC was not as solid as before?
Is that right? Can you please elaborate?
Thank you so much.
I wish you all a great evening!
Belize: Artist:
Hi,
I have lived in Dominica where the humidity is incredible. It destroys everything: computers, clothes, books,... Your best bet is A/C. It really protects your books, DVD's, ...
Good luck!
Dominican Republic: Are the crimes in north coast increasing ?:
Hi,
I do not feel that there is more crime on the North Coast. It seems to me that it is better than a few years back. I have lived here for about 6 years.
In my opinion, it is always imperative to keep a low profile and be aware wherever you go. It is even more necessary in the Caribbean.
Also, I would never ever live outside of a gated community in the Dominican Republic. It would be calling for problems.
I hope this helps.
Dominican Republic: Ssfe Money transfers:
Hi,
Why do not use regular bank transfers? They pose no problem.
Dominican Republic: Spanish language school:
Hi,
Yes. Casa Goethe in Sosua has very good and competent teachers of Spanish language. I found that Sheila is particularly excellent!
Good luck!
Dominican Republic: Relocating advice needed:
Hi,
I believe that there is quite a lot of traffic in Puerto Plata. Also, it is very polluted. I do not know about stores in Cabrera, but it is definitely quieter than Puerto Plata. I agree with SosuaPeter, you should also check out Sosua where you will find international products (Pola and Playero), you can walk... and maybe Cabarete.
Good luck!
