Philippines: the more i look into this....:

the more it's a logistical nightmare. are there any expats (who retired/emigrated from the US) that have the patience to PM me and walk me through the process they have experience with?

Philippines: trying to plan retirement:

1. i'm getting conflicting views on if $1,200 / mo. is a safe amount to comfortably live on (in say, Davao City) and i'm completely unaware of cheaper provinces. wherever i live, i have to have a nurse around during the day, so it has to have SOME SEMBLANCE of civilization. is this a pipe-dream? should i be focusing on Malaysia probably?

considering a move. i'm disabled and make $1,200 via SSDI. would there be any government snags once i change my address to the Philippines regarding my SSDI payments? is English prevalent? i assume i could afford to live in a nice neighborhood (trying to dodge crime rates)? how's the private medical scene? (i would need to hire CNAs to look after me at my house)
