Fiji: Work in Fiji:

Bula Klane, im fairly sure you need a work permit for 2 years which is difficult. you may get some info from immigration, fair to say they are hopeless. Ive been waiting 9 months for citizenship, worked here for 5 years on work permits, cost fj$6000. If i married a citizen its a few hundred and i cant work for 2 years, wages are low for locals but try looking for a post as an expat. i hope you have been to fiji, its not for everyone...good luck

hi Egles, ive just found this site and having a read, yes agree with Pooomba, i also have lost count of the marriage disasters. ive been here 7 yrs and count myself very lucky, i may have found someone genuine but its taken this long, not that i was looking, to buzy with work/friends etc. im interested to see how it worked out for you...Fiji is not for the faint hearted. im from nz, regards Jenny

i would not advise getting insurance in Fiji, read the fine print, sometimes the insurance dosent get lodged, hello legal system, get on a plane. i broke my leg here, the doctors were really good, the nurses buzy on their phones chatting. Drs advice was to go to nz, best advice. any doubts go and visit Lautoka/Nadi hospital, im not a snob but if you are sick i want to be somewhere clean.
