Jamaica: opening a business in Mobay:

Hi, First let me state a few facts and questions:fact: never be deterred by all this so called difficulties. Its not at all difficult. Like everywhere in the world some things take a bit more time than others. The reason some things are difficult in Jamaica as far as paper work is that Jamaica, like France where i am currently living are very old fashion and still do things manually. its frustrating, especially when you are living in a fast pace society. I can ashore you, France is by far the worst when it come to starting a company and even getting decent customer service...you will want to hurt somebody. things that are simple, become either an interrogation or simply personal. Jamaica have similar process, except they are more humble, calm and when you connect to trusting people who happen to know someone they have dealt with in any business it becomes less of a beating and more motivating. 2. Are u planning to Marry this Person? Where are you from, will you apply for a resident permit to live in Jamaica? Why MO BAY? What type of Business are you considering? If you need further assistant, I am a freelance expat consultant, from Jamaican, Canadian and American Citizen now a French resident, moving back to Jamaica. I am at your disposal if you need further advise. please email me directly at sherryl.drown@gmail.com Sherryl Drown

Hi cookie, i live and work as a psychiatric clinican at Columbia medical for 20 years NYC princeton NJ. i lived in 3 different states since 1994. I finally moved to France, brought a house and doing well. However, i still fell free in Jamaica, I am from st Ann area. my husband and i will be going back there to live for a year, just to test how we feel. my suggestion is, like everywhere you moved to or would like to move to, rent for at least 3 months and decide. We rented a place in that gated community in Priory. we will live there for a year. send me a message mabe we could meet up for a drink. i have 2 young onces too and they will be going to school there for that time. dont feel too scared, the media is there to put fear in us. this area is pretty safe...its not Kingston. cheers
