Costa Rica: Good Eye Clinic near SJ:

Adrian Rubinstein, Vision Institute.

Costa Rica: Elderly mother, health:

There are pain clinics/doctors here that can help mom. Private insurance does not cover pre existing conditions so you must be prepared to pay out of pocket and the medications are not cheap. Tramadol, an opioid, is available over the counter. I have COPD and sometimes the weather oppressive for breathing. I can sit in an air conditioned car and feel better. One room air conditioners are available but be prepared to pay high electrical bills. Should mom need in home care there are retired American nurses here that could be hired and local, trained professional caregivers as well . All that being said, pain care is available for cash.

Check out Caravan Tour to CR. cost here depends on where and how you live. We are from MI and save many thousands on heating bills and try to buy local. We also use the bus system and walk. Live in a nice Tico neighborhood with dirt cheap property taxes in the Central Valley.
