Trinidad & Tobago: Boarding/hotel/sitter for yorkie dog:

Hi I just PM you

Trinidad & Tobago: House sitter:

Hi! I would like to know if anyone has a good contact for a house sitter/ housekeeper. We will be traveling for 3 weeks and need someone to watch over the house and take care of our dogs. Thanks!

Mexico: Apartment in Tlalpan:

Hi! My friend is moving to Mexico City in March and he will be working in a hospital in Tlalpan. He's a student so his budget is limited. Does anyone here know someone looking for a roommate or cheap and safe housing options in the area? Thanks!!

Trinidad & Tobago: Dog Hotel:

Hi! We will be traveling soon for a few days and I would like to know if anyone knows about dog hotels in Trinidad? I've only found Aaron's school but I've been sending emails for 1 week, asking for information, prices and availability and his only response so far has been "ok no problem". If we don't find a better place I guess we'll have to settle for that but would appreciate if someone has a better recommendation.

Trinidad & Tobago: Cost of transporting dogs from U.K. to Trinidad:

I brought my dog from Costa Rica and my fiance will bring his from the US and in both cases the airlines had fixed prices. In our case, the dogs traveled unaccompanied because we are already in Trinidad so they traveled as cargo. I'm not sure if prices vary depending on if they fly unaccompanied-cargo or with you-excess baggage. Just contact the airline, they will need the weight of the dog and the size/weight of the kennel to give you an estimate. I read that in some countries airlines won't transport pets during very hot or very cold seasons, so include the expected month of travel when you email/contact them. From CR we paid around US$380 and from the US I think it will be similar. Additionally: if the dogs arrive before 4pm you don't have to pay the vet's fee at customs/ between 4pm and 10pm pay around US$100/ holidays, weekends, etc ~US$150. Also consider that most airlines only allow pets to travel from Monday-Thurs in case some paper/whatever is missing, the animal won't have to stay at the airport over the weekend. You will also have to pay: handling to the cargo company, my dog+kennel weighed 55kilos so I paid aroundUS$45. And some import tax, this will depend on the dog's breed, mine was rescued from the street so he had no "economic" value however, you HAVE to pay something and they assigned him the cheapest price and that was ~$65. For these 3 payments you have to bring cash! No cards accepted or ATMs nearby

Trinidad & Tobago: Moving to trinidad:

Hi. I recently moved here with my fiance and there are some things you should be careful about, but so far we have not had any unpleasant situations. In this case it is important that you choose a safe neighborhood. In case you havent found a place yet, these are some of the safest and nicest areas: Westmoorings, St Ann's, Cascade, Maraval, Victoria Gardens, Goodwood. And about dogs, we aare also bringing our dogs but it's pretty complicated, if you havent started this procedure let me know so I can give you some more info. Also, you should know that, unfortunately, it will be a bit hard to find a furnished house that will accept your pets. Tenants do not like pets in general, we had a hard time finding a house.

Trinidad & Tobago: Looking for cars to buy:

Hi! I got mine yesterday, Honda CRV and found it on trinicarsforsale.com. Highly recommend it, you can find a wide variety of cars and prices are shown so wont change. Good luck

Costa Rica: Location? Location?:

Hey! I guess it depends on what you will be doing during the year. I would not recommend San Isidro del General because there's not much to do there. Also, most offices, etc are centralized in San Jose, so living there could make things a bit harder. Orotina sounds better, it is halfway between San Jose and Jaco/ Playa Hermosa (Playa Hermosa is only 5 min from Jaco and it's much better). If you want to be closer to San Jose, I would def recommend Santa Ana, it's only 1 hour drive/ 1.5-2 hr bus to the closest Beach (Jaco&Hermosa). I'm Costa Rican living abroad at the moment but if you want more info or have specific questions just let me know! And personally, I consider there's an important gap between the public and private education.

Trinidad & Tobago: Renting with a Pet:

Hey! It is very hard, I just moved to Trinidad and my options came down to only 3 semi furnished houses. I found a great townhouse in Westmoorings for only $1400. Most realtors will tell you that it's impossible to find something for less than US$3000... It's not true! Contact Valerie at propertynettt@gmail.com and give her your requirements and budget. You could ask her about a house in Victoria Gardens, I almost took it but was too big for just 2. Just keep in mind that you probably won't find a furnished house that accepts pets.

Trinidad & Tobago: Best areas to live:

Traffic in general is pretty bad during rush hour but I've heard that Maraval can get a bit worse than other areas. However, it is a very nice area. Other nice areas as St. Anns, Cascade. Or the west: Victoria Gardens, Westmoorings. All these neighborhoods are very nice, safe and it's also where most expats live. There's an international school in Westmoorings and a nice mall, both 10-15 min walk. I was told that I couldn't find a house for less than US$3000 but I found one for $1400, so be clear about your budget when you contact a realtor.
