Hi, Kusadasi is not next door to Izmir. It is another town not too far though. I have a Turkish-American friend living in Alacati (Cesme) now. I can ask him if he rents you a room. How long are you going to stay in Izmir? Any special needs you have? Vegeterias or so? (He is not) Do you smoke? If you consider having treatment in Adana, we can give you room and there is a dental specialist here had many American patients before. We have many Americans in adana, too. Best. Al

Turkey: Looking at Mugla:

Hey, Mugla is one of the best places you may move. There is no snowy winters. Summers are hot but you will be close to beaches. Winters will be mild: humidity is high because it is one of the greenest cities in the country esoecially in the West. Turkey is not inexpensive. Sales taxes are here 18% to 48% (appliances, TVs included) When you purchase a car, sales tax is 60%. Insurance and yearly auto taxes are about the same. Turkey: Where to move to:

We also live in Adana. It has excellent weather in winter, fall and springtime. summers are hot but we moved to the North of the lake only 20 minutes away from the city which is much cooler. Our community has a swimming pool, we do not even use air-conditioning. If you want really cool weather in Summer, you can drive to the mountains which have excellent housing cheap and convenient. If you say no to Adana, Izmir, Bodrum and Fethiye have int'l airports, cool evenings, good housing. But all more expensive than Adana. Come and have a cup of tea with us. You will be our neighbours! There are no forms needed to be filled for income tax. You need to report your income in the US though. Rent usually includes the HOA fees but you need to check with the real estate company. There is TAA located on Cinnah Caddesi which orginizes some events. Good lock. Vural Cengiz Adana

Turkey: Rent the home in Adana:

Hi Cynthia, You can rent an apartment in Adana for as low as 300 Euros. The apartment would be in the city with 2-3 bedrooms and one bath, heating/cooling would be by a split air-conditionar (wall unit.) You cannot spend Euros for daily shopping but you can change money at the corner exchange offices (banks are not preffered because of commissions.) Myself and my girl-friend live in a house with 3 floors; we can rent you one of the fllors with its own bathroom and kitchen. House is heading to a lake and a very peaceful place.
