Argentina: Risks in Argentina:

Where did you hear of this "ejection of foreign landholders"??? I get emails from Argentine friends everyday and haven't heard anything. There is a January symposium on investing in Argentina. I'm sure they would have canceled it. The gov't has made several announcements of opening the country to foreign investments. I read the news from Argentina and Mercotur everyday and haven't seen anything there either. It sounds like "scare tactics" to discourage people from investing out of north America to me. I was in Argentina in November and the immigracion people were very encouraging. Not a hint of "ejection".

Argentina: Moving to ARGENTINA:

The rumors are true-Argentina is a wonderful place to live. My wife and I are moving there permanently in '05. We have settled on the Patagonia region to live, as we enjoy the quieter lifestyle there. Real estate bargains are still available. Residency is relatively easy. If you need help even in Buenas Aires, a truly formidable City, let me know. Doug zapotec49@yahoo.com

Argentina: Residency in Argentina:

Hi Residency isn't hard but you will need some help-even if you speak spanish. Tell me what you are planning and your age and I can give you some resources. My wife and I are just back to the states to wrap up buisiness and move to Patagonia. Doug zapotec49@yahoo.com

Argentina: Buying an Apartment in Argentina:

Hey Just got back from Argentina and my wife and I are moving there in May,05. Go to a consulate, or to the website and you will find a list of things to get-like federal police report, med check etc. Article 15 seems to contain the bulk of the residency requirements. You have to decide what category you belong in; such as pentioner etc. You may find that you are content to leave the country-as you are stating at such a time as to keep renewing your 'tourist' status. You are only moments from Uruguay, after all. Real Estate however must be bought with a local bank account and that is a bit complicated with tourist staus. We did it with a LOT of HELP. Argentina: Legal considerations moving to Argentina:

Looking for opinions and details of money transfer for property in Argentina-specifically in the Bariloche area. I have been told it is not too difficult but I would appreciate some details. The citizens/residents only bank account rule seems a difficulty-any advice???
