Nicaragua: Nica Bank loan, or rent to buy?:

Hi again guys Hope I'm not wearing you out with my cascade of questions. Thing is, following 3 divorces, I'm left with no savings/ assets, barring my pension which will amount to app $1700/ month. Now should I find the perfect farm for my dream business (gaited horse riding school) I would obviously like to secure it, ensuring that the owner won't tell me one day that he's sold it. I wonder is it possible for a foreign pensionista, holding a cedula, to get a Nica Bank loan to buy a farm? If so would my monthly income ($1,700) be sufficient for bankers to grant me a loan? As an alternative, do you suppose a presumptive seller could be persuaded to sign a long term 'rent to buy' deal? Thanks in advance for kindly sharing your experience. Goran Bockman

majicjack I too would like the name and number of your star lawyer please, just in case. A good lawyer, in a 3rd world country, is worth his weight in gold!

Nicaragua: How can I get a predictable pension?:

Hi guys, Are there any financial specialists on this forum? My problem is I'm getting most of my pension from Sweden, paid into my British account, in British Pounds, probably at a bad exchange rate. When I live in Nicaragua I'll be drawing mainly $$ and Cordobas, again at bad And fluctuating rates. This means I'll never know just how much money I'll have, from month to month. The difference can be up to $300/ month, which I find unacceptable. I wonder is there a way I could lock in at a favourable rate, so my monthly money will be more predictable? Grateful for sound advice Goran

Nicaragua: a fair size farm for rent??:

Hi again, I forgot to introduce myself properly in my first post, on this most helpful forum; '6months in 6 mths Out??' My name is Goran Bockman, a Swede by birth, currently living in London UK. I'm a horse aficionado since my earliest childhood, and one of the strongest pulls for me to retire in Nicaragua is the chance to own horses (gaited) again. I'm looking to rent, long term, a granja where I can keep a number of horses. My plan for the future is to open a riding school, on gaited horses, catering mainly to Usanos and European tourists or expats. I've been training and competing on Icelandic (gaited of course) horses for the past 40+ yrs., and have also done many week end clinics for competition riders so I have the experience to back up the plan. If anyone knows of a fair sized farm (app. 10 Hectares) for rent in, or around, Esteli or Leon or Granada, please drop me a line, either on this forum or on my EMA: goranbockman@yahoo.se Thanks in advance/ Goran

Nicaragua: 6 months in 6 months Out??:

Hi all, I'm coming to Nicaragua on the 12th of this month (Sep). The plan is to stay for 6 mths and then go back home for 2 mths to arrange for the documents needed to apply for residence as a pensionista. Now I've read that, having stayed in Nica for 6 months, you then have to be Out of the country for the following 6 months. However I've also read about perpetual tourists doing the 72 hrs visa run to CR and then getting a new 90 days tourist visa when re-entering Nica. Can anyone please give me conclusive evidence, either that I HAVE to be out of the country for 6 mths, OR that I can return sooner?
