Argentina: Thanksgiving in Buenos Aires:

I am an American who's been in Buenos Aires on a 90 day visa and will be here through Thanksgiving. Does anyone know of anywhere where there may be having a traditional American "Thanksgiving" dinner here in Buenos Aires. Guess I'm getting a little homesick for that traditional Thursday holiday dinner..... if not, guess it'll have to be yet another great Parilla dinner...haha.. Thanks in advance...

Argentina: Argentina Moving, Job,Papers,Banking:

I also comply to the previous comment. I Left the USA 3 months ago and spent 2 months in Central America so obviously didn't bring a lot of hands on cash with me. I've been in Argentine for two months now and its, very difficult to get money in and out of this country. They are so paranoid amd controlling it's like the Haulocost. You'll have to bring cash with you when youmtravel here p, that's theonky way.....the country is a mess!!!!!

Uruguay: Opening. Bank account in Uruguay:

I have recently moved from the US to BuenosAires. I've been warned not to open a bank account in Argentina for obvious reasons. Will I be able to take the ferry over to Montevideo and open an account to transfer my US dollars? I heard it's been getting more difficult and I might even have to open a Post office box? Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Argentina: Banking Concerns:

Greetings All, I am new and literally just moved to Buenos Aires from USA (California) 2 days ago. As you can imagine, I've already dealt with adjusting to the new areas, learning the buses and Metro, buying electric plug adapters for USA plugs, and also walking to Central to get the "Blue" exchange rates of 14.5 versus the 8.5? Is the 8.5, the Gringo rate? I've gotten some good feedback, but my still real issue now is trying to figure out the uncertain banking situation in Argentina. Many people on other Expat sites said I should NOT open an Argentina bank, but maybe open one in safer Montevideo? All of my money is back in the USA and I have to figure out where to move it as I cant keep paying ATM fees and need to get an apartment, plus most banks here seem really skittish over giving anything more than 1,000 pesos through ATM. I know that there is that rule about only moving $10,000 at a time, but cant you move it all over to an International Trust (like Belize or Singapore) and not have that problem. I'd still need a local bank to pull funds from or does everyone else here just "Stuff it in their Mattresses" Thanks in advance for all advice, Hunter

Argentina: Moving to Buenos Aires in 4 days HELP!!:

I left the USA 2 months ago and am currently in Panama City. PC was not the cosmopolitan city I thought it was. I've always had my sights on Buenos a Aires and just bought a plane ticket to arrive Wednesday. Typically, I've been staying in hotels for the first week until I get the lay of the land. I'm 45 years old, single, and want to be very close to the action near Downtown. I also like nice amenities versus older ones and close to transit as I have no car, etc. Can anyone please recommend what areas of the city I should focus on as I'm clueless at this point. Thanks in advance, Hunter

Panama: Spanish Language Schools:

Can anyone recommend any good Spanish schools in Panama City and Coronado? I'm currently staying in PC now but not liking the congestion, traffic. This city needs 5 years to catch up. I'm taking a day trip to Coronado today to check it out. Thanks in advance
