Panama: Debating:

Thanks to this site my trip to Nicaragua was great. I am debating between Panama and Ecuador. Can someone point me in the right direction for a quiet peaceful apartotel in Panama? Internet is a must. Thank you .

Ecuador: Hotel in Manta:

Hi everyone. Just got back from Nicaragua. Great trip. I was hoping someone can recommend a good hotel with wifi at a decent price in manta Ecuador. An apartotel would be nice. Thank you like always.

Nicaragua: Visiting Esteli, Nicaragua in April 2015:

Happy New Year to all. I can recommend Apartotel Gueguense. Currently I am residing here in Esteli at this hotel (5 months). The place is very nice. As far as advice on Esteli the city has all the comforts I can want. Major banks , fast internet, and most of my American grocery products. I think most of the people on this site can answer all your questions without ever having to speak to an actual expat in Nicaragua, So ask away :)

Nicaragua: Rivas Nicaragua:

I am an American currently living in Esteli. The past four months have been great, but I would like a change. Anyone have info on Rivas down south. Crime rate ...places to stay..cost of living and so forth. Looking for a peaceful laid back place, I am not a night party goer. Thanks like always.

I agree with alki, word of mouth is very important. You first have to find a preliminary base of operations. Once you have done that you start to make local contacts and feel them out. They go a long to making your stay more comfortable. Always be on the guard for the slick ones, you will eye them out quickly with some observation. Most of the times anyway. Walking around helps you get a feel for the lay of the land and for rental signs. Ask which are the bad neighborhoods and stay out of them. Good luck.

If you are going to stay in Esteli the Aparthotel Gueguense is a great choice. The owners are very nice and the place is secure. I have been here for a month and very satisfied. IMHO...
