Germany (Kaiserslautern): HR Coordinator

The HR Coordinator will provide generalist level support to the USO staff in the European region.

The HR Coordinator will provide Human Resource guidance, support and oversight to the European Region (Germany and Italy). Responsibilities / Duties

- Employee Relations: Operate as primary point of contact for regional employee relations activities, including coaching and counseling management and staff, advising management on employee performance issues, and investigating employee complaints and grievances; participate in the performance management process to ensure exceptional quality and consistency with USO guidelines; provide training throughout the region to management and staff, to include formal training presentations as well as one-on-one coaching and development.

- HR Operations: Review and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to assist USO regional operations; partner with Arlington HR (Compensation and Benefits) to record and maintain all position descriptions to ensure compliance with USO position standards and guidelines; assist with the development of position descriptions as appropriate; partner with Arlington HR (Compensation and Benefits) to disseminate information to employees regarding benefits programs and other HR-related topics as needed.

- Recruiting: Partner with Arlington Recruitment team to ensure that an effective recruitment and selection process for USO Europe exists; assist in the preparation of vacancy announcements; identify targeted media outlets for external advertisements; assist in the development of interview schedules; interview prospective candidates; provide local, on-the-ground support throughout the recruitment and selection process.

- New Hire Orientation: Coordinate with Arlington HR new hire orientation for local hires.

- Administrative: Establish and maintain local personnel files for new hires and existing employees; ensure proper coordination with Arlington HR with respect to records maintenance and storage; perform Regional Office administrative duties as required, including the coordination of the issuance of USO SOFA-sponsored Invitational Travel Orders, issuing USO temporary duty (TDY) travel orders.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree with an emphasis in Human Resources preferred.

Three years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience with direct experience in employee relations required.

Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Internet applications

Thorough and detail-oriented with demonstrated organizational and analytical skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Adaptable to diverse and cross-cultural situations
