In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.
Dongguan citizens seem very accepting of differences. There are people from all walks of life and all religions.
What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?
Furniture, shoes and textiles seem to be the top industries. Career opportunities at present are not so plentiful. The economy has problems here just as it does everywhere else in the world.
If a friend of yours was thinking of moving to this city or town from far away, what other advice would you give them.
Be prepared for a lot of walking. Live in one of the gardens within walking distance of shops. Traffic here is a nightmare and you do not want to drive in the city. Buy a bike. Great exercise and you can bike to shops quite easily. Smile..although some Chinese are wary of foreigners most will say "Ni Hao" (hello) if you speak with a smile.
