Nairobi, Kenya is a fun city, truly.

Chatting Doctors, green hills, best climate, less corruption than the West (just little less funding to cover up), coffee houses, shopping malls, multicultured, serious schooling. Giraffes..

Giraffes makes me LOL loudly, my little son fell in love with Betty the Rothschild's giraffe (Giraffe Center Hardy, Nbi). We lived nearby and would visit every day -- Resident Rate is only 5 dollars for the both of us...so Giraffe's at their large treehouse feeding bay became my "let's go to the park kiddo." Pre- kindergarten.

Now my son attends a lovely traditional kindergarten in Lavington, close to the malls, world renound Nbi Hospital, buzzing showy Westlands, and the State House.

We can buzz into the busy city center explore the galleries, ancient fabric shops of the famous Biashara street; where a torn page of Vogue will get you an exact copy of that dress, for that occasion.

Surrounded by international cuisine, warm hardworking people, bright and beautiful colours.

Today we can pick up an envy making necklace from the Masai Market, or go bowling at the Village Market.

Arcades are thankfully few making children more than likely to pick up a book, ride a bike or horse, play imaginative games. Or, go to the animal safari walk and look at the King of the Jungle spending a Sunday with his women.

Fruit and veg are so abundent and all organic it is a wonder that there is so much and it's all affordable, from the well stocked Ya Ya Center green grocers with imported Kiwis, Sevile oranges, large Portobello mushrooms (locally grown).

To the Coast we head during holidays. Palm fringed with white sands and beaches that are wide or coves or sand islands. Living off fresh fish prepared by superb cooks. Floating in kikois, local fabrics twisted at the waiste or neck into dresses with fragrant frangi pani tucked behind an ear. Watching our children fish or hunt with the local fishermen.

Kenya is filled with trilingual, talented artisans, carers a very nice society with the best climate of any capital city (Nbi).

Any questions? Feel free to email me. Jac.
