Maple Leaf International School in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago By ExpatExchange Member Excerpt: It's generally a good school. My main concern is that most of the students are Trinidadian. I thought this would be a good thing, helping us to integrate with this society, but I was very surprised at how reserved Trinidadians were (not their first impression, though, which is quite friendly). So even though my children are very extrovert and friendly, we are finding that their classmates are not encouraged to socialise with non-Trinidadians. We hear that the other International School, which is mostly expat, is more aware of the importance of these social connections. Submit a review of your school.

Having a Baby in Graz, Austria By ExpatExchange Member tamshann Excerpt: I did not receive any medication in my epidural, and the doctor mumbled something to the effect of "no pain, no gain". I was furious and had to end up having a c-section emergency and then they knocked me totally out, I woke up to a slap on the face by the nurse (instead of a pinch on the cheek), she said AUFWACHEN and I didn't have enough energy to slap her back. So, it was very stressful birth. They keep you in the hospital for 2 weeks after a c-sec. And for a normal delivery, its about 3-4 days. British Expats in Andalucia Get Some Help View Details Spanish officials continue to take action against British expats in Andalucia. As reported on Telegraph.co.uk, Chris Bryant, the Foreign Minister for Europe, visited with expatriates in Spain and talked to Spanish officials to address the situation: "Obviously it's not for the British Government to tell the Spanish what to do. But I'm pushing the message hard at all government levels that I meet here that they have got to put political willpower into these problems, whether it’s an amnesty, whether it's a change in the law, whatever the solution is that is needed. That is the point I am pushing." As noted by AFP via Yahoo! News, the expats are also getting help in the form of a civil servant appointed by the British government to Andalucia to help with integration into that region. Posted: 2010-03-08
