The Department has received reports that several persons were killed and as many as five injured in Murchison Falls National Park in western Uganda on the morning of March 27. While details are incomplete, initial reports attribute the attack to a local rebel group. No American citizens are believed to be among those killed or wounded. The Department recommends strongly that American citizens avoid all travel to Murchison Falls National Park and environs until such time as appropriate security is in place to ensure the safety of visitors.
