I am a forensic psychologist by trade, but my real passions are music, dance, food and travel. My wanderlust and worldwide curiosity has taken me from hole-in-the-wall, locals-only spots to well-heeled locales in 36 countries.
That wanderlust led me to take an early retirement from my demanding job in California as a forensic psychologist (evaluating and testifying on Sexually Violent Predators) and sold everything and moved to Spain. I chose the picturesque Mediterranean village of Altea.
My blog now primarily focuses on my experiences and sometimes challenges of living in Spain, with variable topics. There is practical information about the confusing and challenging task of getting a residential/retirement visa, aspects of adjusting to Spanish life, local activities and festivals, other travel destinations, solo female travel, multi-ethnic friends, and challenges of the local Valenciana dialect. I have a passion for local food, music and dance. I have been fortunate to have been invited to people's homes, such as the Nepalese family who prepared a sumptuous homemade dinner, a birthday party of a local man at his ranch with huge pans of paella and mussels, etc. I also feature original photos of different aspects of my life in Altea, and beyond.
