Phlipside Follies

American expat English teacher-retiree has lived in Cabanatuan for more than a year.

Web Site:

I'm Brad Smith, a retired American high school teacher who has been living in Cabanatuan City, the Philippines for over a year. My adoptive/adopted Filipino family, the Javier-Aldonza-Guevarra-Academia clan, as well as the kind staff at the hotel where I live, have been friends and helpmates to me during this time. It has, for the most part, been a very enjoyable stay. Many of this blog's entries follow my day-to-day activities in and around Cabanatuan; other entries focus on a particular aspect of life in the Philippines. The blog contains many photos (the few that are not mine I have credited), and offers insights into the lives of average Filipinos in Cabanatuan, a city of about 300,000 in central Luzon. I have committed myself to providing at least one blog entry per week, and have been writing in it since June of 2018.
