Describe how you "dreamed" expat life would be before you moved overseas. Please provide as much detail as possible.
We lived in many countries before so I dreamed Romania will be just the same, meeting new people, learning new things incl. the language but I also expected that many things from the Communist time haven't changed (Continue)

What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?
There are no clubs or anything. It's very hard here to meet Expats and even Romanians. I am alone all day. Some tourists come to Mamaia in Summer but it's so run down, only some Romanians from Bucharest are visiting. (Continue)

I would say that the beach is a major "fun" thing. Quite a large number of "fun" places around the world only have the beach as the main and often only attraction (think Caribbean, etc). From Constanta you have the entire Dobrogea accessible within an hour drive: Danube Delta, Dobrogea Mountains, the Danube and so on. In the summer I would say is just fine but I do not like the winters when it's rather windy with hardly any snow to give you the winter feeling.

I wish the one guest comment would also tell me what exactly the fun in Summer is in Constanta except of the beach. Oh please let us know. Is it Cycling? Running? Really healthy food? Something cultural? And there are lots of things you can do in other cities in winter.
