What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?
Don't move here! I was nearly kidnapped. The cartels have made this place way too dangerous! I fled this place to save my life and the life of my husband and lost everything! You have to be insane to consider living in Mexico these days.

guestWhere did you you chose to live in Tijuana. Where and how were you nearly 'kidnapped' by the cartel? What things did they take from you? Funny how I've lived in Mexico for years off and on with zero problems.
guestI am a 50-something single female who moved to Tijuana 7 months ago with my dogs and NEVER had a problem. I live in a regular Mexican neighborhood, i.e., no American compound with gates, bars, etc. and feel just as safe living here as U.S. cities I've lived including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Memphis, New Orleans, etc. Unfortunately I still work in the San Diego area and after being in the U.S. for more than 4 hours I'm so ready to go back across the border to Mexico! So wondering why you had such a bad experience??????
guestMy wife and I are in our early sixties and live in Tijuana in zona centro. We have lived here less than a year and love it! My wife feels safe going out by herself in our area ten or eleven at night, we both feel safer here than anywhere we lived in the states. We go to zona norte fairly often to shop and even there we feel safe. Maybe not late at night, but like anywhere you have to use common sense. Later we plan to move to the playas, but we have never seen anything like what you describe as far as kidnappings etc. What did you do to attract such attention by the cartels?
