This Public Announcement is being issued to alert American citizens to terrorist threat information in Bahrain. This Public Announcement expires February 24, 2004.

The United States Government has received terrorist threat information specific to Bahrain. While more specific information is not available at this time American citizens in Bahrain should remain vigilant, particularly in public places associated with the Western community. U.S. citizens should avoid demonstrations and large crowds, should remain aware of their surroundings, be vigilant about their personal security, maintain an unpredictable daily schedule, and vary the routes used to travel to and from their places of work and residence. As the Department continues to develop information on any potential security threats to U.S. citizens overseas, it shares credible threat information through its Consular Information Program documents, available on the Internet at .
