Uganda Travel Warning
Issued by U.S. State Department
Jun 08, 2001
Although the U.S. Embassy in Kampala has not been able to assess the credibility of the following information, they felt it prudent to share it with American residents in Uganda. It was conveyed to the local American community on June 8.
The U.S. Embassy is in receipt of information indicating that individuals are planning terrorist acts against facilities and events associated with or funded by the Americans and the British in Uganda. The Government of Uganda is taking appropriate action to address these issues. Nevertheless, Americans who have concerns about security provisions for specific locations should contact local police and security officials. As always, the Embassy urges Americans to exercise good security precautions, remain alert to potential threats, and to stay in contact with the Embassy for updated information.
