"Wife and I live in Oceanside California and thinking about living in Mexico for a couple of years. We are both in our 50s. My wife is a caregiver for seniors with dementia and I am a high school teacher as well as a carpenter. We have a 4yr old 70 pound active dog named Rex. We like Ensenada, but would be open to other ideas. I speak some Spanish, but far from fluent. At this point, our main focus would be learning about: - Local rental options… Finding people that are trustworthy and very familiar with the Ensenada area. - General relocating tips… paperwork, healthcare, etc. - Tips for moving and living with our dog in Mexico. "Hello! I'm looking for some advice on having a baby in Mexico. I will hopefully be marrying my Mexican partner before the baby is born and so the baby will have dual nationality (Mexican and British) I would like to hear from anyone who has been in a similar position. I am wondering about my rights as a parent in Mexico - do I lose any rights because I am foreign? Will I be able to take my baby out of the country without the father? (for example to the USA since we live on the border or to the UK to visit) Is there anyway I can be put on Social Security here in Mexico without being married so I can have my baby in a state hospital that I like? I have been working in Mexico for 2 years with my FM3. I would appreciate any advice anyone can give me. Emma" - elc83
