The city's main industry is financial. Banking and investment are the largest. However, since Boston is just a stone's throw, you can find employment in almost every capacity.

The cost of living is very high. Real estate costs are some of the
highest in the country and the taxes are extreme to fund an exceptional school system. Be prepared to require a budget unless your income is in the
$200,000/year range or you are moving from another major city such as NY. LA or Chicago.
