What activities, clubs and organizations would you recommend to newcomers to help them meet others?
One can volunteer at the hospital in nearby Randolph or help out with the local dog rescue group, a library volunteer and volunteer as a church member which there are many.
In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.
Mainly this area is white and the people are open to other diverse groups and will help them.
What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?
There is a career center in the HS that helps graduate find jobs. The local newspaper advertises jobs and of course word of mouth works in this small town of around 5,000.
In general, what are peoples' priorities in this city? For example, do lives revolve around work, family, socializing, sports, etc.?
The local priority is work, supporting local events, gardening or helping neighbors and youth sports.
If a friend of yours was thinking of moving to this city or town from far away, what other advice would you give them.
I would suggest that they come for a 10 day visit and introduce themselves to many that they meet.
Vermonters are friendly people and generous in nature.
