International with American curriculum

K-12

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

About half walk to and from. But there is a bus service, and many students have drivers or parents pick them up. Most students live in Maadi, and since it is a relatively small area, commutes are noramlly quite short.

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

The facilities here are great, there are 2 gyms, a swimming pool, 2 fields, 3 tennis courts, a theater, 3 on-campus food stores (one bagel and two other), and plenty of places to sit during breaks for MS and HS students. Extracurricular involvement seems to be almost universal. I, myself, am a sophomore here at CAC, and I am one of the only students not really involved in anything. There are many clubs, something for everybody pretty much, peer support, peer tutoring, MUN, sports, lunchtime intramurals, National Honor Society, Honor Council, and others.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

Well, I am the child, and before moving to Egypt two years ago I had lived abroad about 6 years, so it was nothing new to me. For many of my friends, however, this is their first overseas posting and they seem to have adapted well. But many of my expat friends don't seem to like it here very much, maybe because they have had too many conveniences in the past, I'm not sure. But I absolutely love it here, it is pretty much my favorite place I've ever lived. There are no pre-repatriation programs here, but since the expat community is so big, you are sure to find others where you come from. Everyone has their niche here in Maadi.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

There are many adult sports leagues, if that's what this question is asking. There are comittees and boards parents seem to be involved in. Also, many parent choose to aid the scouting experience.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

This school is very academically competitive. Some students do not like this at all, and it causes them to be intimidated. This school offers the IB program, so if international college prepping is what you're looking for, this is a good place to go. Excellent academic standards here. One of the top international schools in the world.

My 6th grade brother and I have completely enjoyed our time here and I am very much looking forward to my two final years here.
