Emaar International School
In what town or city is this school located?
Singapore
How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)
International
What grade levels are represented at this school?
Pre School - High School
How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)
My kids take the school bus.
How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?
EIS is a huge campus with full facilities so my kids do not have to travel to another location for ..let's say, swimming class. Everything is done on campus and it's so easy.
What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
I have two boys - one in Pre School, the other in Junior School. It is quite similar to the Canadian system actually as EIS provides an international curriculum.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
They do have the Parent Teacher Association. They meet for coffee meetings and get involved in most school activities.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
EIS is a new school, I would recommend you visit the campus and speak to the teachers yourself and get a feel of the facilities. Not everything you read on the expat forums is true! :)
