What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

The Lincoln School

In what town or city is this school located?

La Lucila

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

American

What grade levels are represented at this school?

K-4 to 12

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

bus or car

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

ES and MS are older while the HS is much newer. There is a large soccer field as well as a swimming pool.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

The curriculum (speaking more to the ES and MS) is slowly evolving, but still has a ways to go to become fully cohesive---has a lot to do with admin who are happy with keeping the status quo. There is learning going on---just lacks in rigor.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

An active PTO is in place. A very welcoming community.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

Lincoln is a very nuturing school where your child will be cared for emotionally and socially. Plus, they will receive 90 minutes of daily Spanish instruction.

Many expat teachers have been at Lincoln a very long time which can be seen as both a blessing and a curse.
